Introduction to February scholarships

The fact that January is a big month for scholarships might lead you to believe that February scholarships are few and far between. However, I can assure you that that is certainly not the case!

Below, I have curated a list of over 30 awesome scholarships with deadlines in February.

You'll notice that many of them expire at the beginning of the month! So, if your goal is to maximize the potential amount of money that you can win through scholarships, I encourage you to get started ASAP on applying for the February scholarships that you're eligible for.

    Eligibility: Open to graduating high school seniors in Florida who demonstrate excellence in creative writing, dance, drama, music or visual art.

    Eligibility: Open to graduating high school seniors and current undergraduate students majoring in manufacturing, industrial engineering, or a closely related field, at an accredited college or university in the United States or Canada. Must have completed at least one PLTW class.

    Eligibility: The Fund seeks candidates motivated by spiritual values. Open to graduate students and undergraduates with one year of college completed. Preference to candidates who reside in or attend schools in these states: Connecticut, District of Columbia, Delaware, Maryland, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia.

    Eligibility: Open to full-time students pursuing bachelor’s degrees with junior-level academic standing. Must be a US citizen.

  • Amount: $1,250

    Deadline: February 2

    Eligibility: Open to members of minority groups currently underrepresented in dental hygiene programs at the Associate educational level. Must be enrolled in an accredited dental hygiene program in the United States and have completed a minimum of one year in a dental hygiene curriculum.

    Eligibility: Boren Scholarships fund study abroad for U.S. undergraduate students in world regions critical to U.S. interests. Must be a US citizen (18 or older) planning to participate in an overseas program in a country outside of Western Europe, Canada, Australia, or New Zealand.

    Eligibility: The  San Diego Foundation Common Scholarship Application gives San Diego students access to more than 100 scholarships that comprise our Community Scholarship Program by filling out just one application. Applicants must have current residence in San Diego County (for at least one year).

  • Amount: $2,500 - $20,000

    Deadline: February 4 

    Eligibility: Open to immigrant students and children of immigrants who are graduating from a New York City high school to attend public or private colleges and universities, regardless of ethnicity, national origin, or immigration status.

    Eligibility: Open to women and minority college graduates who will be entering their first year of post-graduate studies in a program related to sports administration.

  • Amount: up to $25,000

    Eligibility: Open to high school seniors who have at least one parent with Hispanic heritage. Must be a US resident planning to attend a two or four-year college or university. Minimum 2.8 GPA.

  • Amount: up to $6,000

    Deadline: February 8

    Eligibility: Open to Black/African American females from the Denver metro area. Must be a high school senior planning to enroll in a two or four-year college. Minimum 3.0 GPA.

    Deadline: February 11

    Eligibility: Open to ethnic minority students in California interested in becoming educators, school nurses, school counselors or school therapists. Must be pursuing a degree, credential or certification for a teaching-related career in public education in an accredited institution of higher education.

  • Amount: $3,000

    Deadline: February 14

    Eligibility: Open to minority students pursuing degrees in hotel management.

  • Amount: $2,500

    Deadline: February 14

    Eligibility: Open to Asian/Pacific Islander lesbian, bisexual, or queer women or transgender individuals pursuing technical, professional, or trades certification or other tuition-based learning. Can be a high school senior or currently enrolled student. 

  • Amount: $500 - $5,000

    Deadline: February 14 

    Eligibility: Open to U.S. citizens, permanent residents, eligible non-citizens or DACA students of Hispanic heritage with plans to enroll full time in an accredited U.S. 4-year university in the upcoming academic year. Applicants must have a minimum 2.5 GPA for undergraduate and graduate students and 3.0 GPA for high school students. Emphasis on STEM majors.

  • Amount: $300 - $5,000

    Deadline: February 15

    Eligibility: Open to students who have a parent who is currently employed as a California strawberry fieldworker for the current and prior two harvest seasons. Must be fully enrolled in a trade school, community college, four-year university, or graduate/professional program during the period for which the scholarship is requested. Minimum 2.0 GPA.

    Eligibility: Open to college students (sophomores and above) who identify as a female/woman and pursue an ABET-accredited bachelor or graduate student program in preparation for careers in engineering, engineering technology, and computer science. International students may apply.

    Eligibility: Academic scholarships of various categories open to students in Texas.

  • Amount: $2,000

    Eligibility: Open to low-income women ages 35 and older who are pursuing an undergraduate education in the United States.

  • Amount: up to $10,000

    Eligibility: Open to graduating U.S. high school students who promoted vegetarianism (includes veganism) in their schools and/or communities.

  • Amount: $1,000

    Deadline: February 26

    Eligibility: Open to college-bound women of international backgrounds (or Americans who are first-generation college students) who will be entering an American college or university in the coming Fall.

    Eligibility: Open to US ​​high school seniors with demonstrated financial need who are planning to enroll in four-year institutions. In awarding Hadden Scholarships, the Youth Foundation considers scholastic achievement, character, leadership, volunteerism, and financial need. Minimum GPA to apply is 3.5.
