Kentucky scholarships offered by private organizations

  • Amount: $1,000

    Deadlines: Quarterly

    Details: Before we get into all of the Kentucky-specific private scholarships, check out our very own. No essay or minimum GPA required to apply. Open to US citizens, international students in the US, and students with DACA and undocumented status.

  • Amount: $25,000

    Eligibility: The ScholarshipPoints Scholarship is a monthly no essay scholarship open to all high school and college students ages 16 and older, who are US residents!

    Details: Are you a Kentucky resident who earned a minimum 2.5 GPA in high school and will be attending an in-state college or university? If so, you may be eligible for the KEES Program!

    Details: Are you a Kentucky resident who has enrolled, or been accepted for enrollment, in an approved, in-state program of study that leads to an industry recognized certificate, diploma, Associates of Applied Science (AAS) degree in a high-demand workforce sector or comprehensive transition and postsecondary (CTP) program? If so, you may be eligible for the Work Ready Kentucky Scholarship!

  • Amount: $8,000

    Deadline: Rolling

    Details: For the opportunity to win an $8,000 scholarship, submit a video or written essay about an individual you know personally (who lives in your community) who has inspired you and helped you build the confidence you need to achieve your goals.

  • Amount: $1,000 (over 300 awards available)

    Deadline:  January 9

    Details: To be eligible, you must be a member of Future Farmers of America.

  • Amount:  up to $5,000

    Deadline: February 6

    Details:Jimmy Rane Foundation scholars are students who exhibit academic excellence, leadership skills and community involvement as well as activities, awards and honors, and who have a demonstrated financial need in order to attend college.

  • Amount: $500 to $5,000

    Deadline: February 16

    Details: These scholarships are available to support Latino students from Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana. Awards are based on merit; amounts range from $500 to $5,000, based on relative need.

  • Amount:  $10,000 

    Deadline: April 15

    Details: The Jennifer Casey Alderman Legacy Scholarship Award is open to young adults who have lost a parent to metastatic breast cancer or have financial hardship due to a parent currently living with metastatic breast cancer.

  • Amount: $1,000 to $10,000

    Deadline: March 4

    Details: Are you a current or incoming post-secondary student residing in Kentucky, If so, you may be eligible for some of the many Blue Grass Community Foundation Scholarships! There are a variety of scholarships available, offering between $1,000 and $10,000 per year.  Bear in mind that each individual scholarship has unique eligibility requirements.

  • Amount: $1,000 to $5,000

    Details: The SAWF Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to women enrolled or who plan to enroll in a STEM related field, such as science, technology, engineering, or math.

  • Amount: $3,500

    Deadline: April 1

    Details: The KBA Harry Barfield Scholarship is annually awarded to college students who are currently majoring in broadcasting or communications at a college or university in Kentucky.

    Details: The KBA High School Senior Scholarship is awarded to children of individuals who are currently employed at an active KBA member radio or television station.

    Details:  Recipients must meet several requirements to apply for this scholarship. This includes but is not limited to: Attend a high school in the Foundation’s Area of Impact.  Attending an eligible Tri-State college or university with a freshman status.  Display a desire to overcome adversity and demonstrate a financial need. 

  • Amount: $3,000

    Deadline: June 8

    Details: Are you a Kentucky resident who has been accepted into and is enrolled in a program of nursing (prelicensure (LPN, RN, BSN), BSN completion, or graduate or certificate program- then this scholarship is for you!

  • Amount: $3,500

    Deadline: May 1

    Details: This scholarship available to female graduating high school seniors interested in golf. Residents of the approved 15 southern states (Kentucky is one of them) or the District of Columbia are eligible to apply.

  • Amount: $750

    Deadline: June 28

    Details: Are you a current or incoming undergraduate student belonging to an underrepresented group (female, of rural decent, or a member of an ethnic minority) pursuing a STEM-related major at a university in Kentucky? If so, the Nola Cook Scholarship may be a great opportunity for you.

  • Amount: $2,000

    Deadline: November 29

    Details:  Applicant must be a high school senior. Applicants, their parents, or legal guardians must be members of Jackson Energy Cooperative.
