Connecticut scholarships offered by private organizations

  • Amount: $1,000

    Deadlines: Quarterly

    Details: Before we get into all of the Connecticut-specific private scholarships, check out our very own. No essay or minimum GPA required to apply. Open to US citizens, international students in the US, and students with DACA and undocumented status.

  • Amount: $25,000

  • Amount:  $2,500 Monthly

    Eligibility: The ScholarshipPoints Scholarship is a monthly no essay scholarship open to all high school and college students ages 16 and older, who are US residents!

  • Amount: $2,000 to $4,000

    Deadline: March 1

    Details: The Connecticut Building Congress Scholarship Fund (CBCSF) announces that it will once again be offering scholarships to graduating Connecticut high school students entering college-level programs in architecture, construction-related engineering, construction management, surveying, planning or other courses of study leading to associate, baccalaureate, or masters degrees in the construction field.

  • Amount: $2,500

    Deadline: March 5

    Details: The fund awards two scholarships annually, one for students pursuing a degree in Math & Sciences and a second for students pursuing a degree in Social Sciences.  Residents of Berlin, Bloomfield, Burlington, Cromwell, East Hampton, Farmington, Hartford, Meriden, Middletown, New Britain, Newington, Southington, West Hartford, or Windsor in Connecticut are eligible to apply. Applicants who are of Italian descent are given special consideration.

    Details: To be eligible a student enrolled in a civil engineering program at a 4-year college or university. Applicants must also must be attending or have been accepted into an appropriate college/university program at the undergraduate or graduate level and be from or attending school in New England

  • Amount:  $3,000

    Deadline: April 1

    Details: The Francis X. Crowley Scholarship annually awards $3,000 to a student enrolled in a civil or environmental engineering program or a business management program at a 4-year college or university in New England.

  • Amount: $1,500

    Deadline: April 1

    Details: One-time awards for college juniors or seniors planning a career in journalism. Must be a Connecticut resident attending a four-year college or any student attending a four-year college in Connecticut.

  • Amount: $5,000

    Deadline: April 1

    Details:  This renewable award designed to encourage undergraduate or graduate students to pursue a course of study leading to a bachelor’s degree or higher in the employee benefits field.

    Details: Each year, qualified African-American and Black junior and senior high school students participate in the Essay Contest and Issue Forum. Students are presented with a topic that embodies some of our communities’ most pressing issues and are asked to write an essay to defend their research, analyses, and opinion.

    Details: The UNICO Foundation will provide two literary scholarships, valued at $1,000 each to matriculated college students submitting an original short story or essay celebrating their Italian heritage.

    Details: 20 awards of $5,000 will be granted to students pursuing 2-year programs and 40 awards of $10,000 will be granted to students pursuing 4-year degrees. Must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA.

    Details: Are you a high school senior who demonstrate personal excellence on and off the ice. All applicants must be New England residents and skate at FMC arenas.

Further, has your life been directly or indirectly affected by substance abuse? If so, the Mountainside Brighter Future College Scholarship may be a great opportunity for you.

  • Amount: $1,250

    Deadline: May 1

    Details: Applicant must be a graduating high school senior planning to further his or her educational or career goals by attending a two- or four- year college or technical, vocational, or apprenticeship program.  Applicant must demonstrate academic persistence and dedicated service to his or her local community.

  • Amount: $5,000

    Details: The Women’s Empowerment Scholarship was created to help power the movement of female leaders by inspiring and enabling women to pursue higher education. Overall, scholarship recipients will be those who have proven a commitment to academics, community service and extracurricular activities.

    Details: Apply for this scholarship if you are a student who has solved an artistic, scientific, or technical problem in a new or unusual way OR a student who has come up with a distinctive solution to problems faced by your school, community or family.

    Details: Students who study environmental science, biology, engineering, or a related physical sciences major make up the majority of the college graduates who go on to become the foremost experts in environmental testing, both in the lab and the field, and developers of new technologies for the trade

    Details: The Connecticut Association of Latinos in Higher Education Scholarships are open to individuals who demonstrate involvement with, and commitment to, activities that promote Latinos in the pursuit of education. Applicants must have a 2.75 GPA and be Latinx students from Connecticut.

    Details: The Minority Teacher Incentive Grant Program provides up to $5,000 a year for the final two years of full-time study to minority undergraduates enrolled in a Connecticut teacher preparation program.
