$1000 scholarship for a student with any active amateur radio license class attending college or university. Student should be studying horticulture and/or environmental sciences.
One $1000 award available to a student who possesses a technician class or higher amateur radio license and attends a four-year college or university.
To apply, students should write an essay discussing a personal crisis and what lessons they learned from that experience both in their own personal life and in the larger community. The essay should discuss how resilience can be used to recover from a destructive situation.
Preference will be given to applicants residing in the following Virginia counties: Page, Shenandoah, Warren, Clarke, City of Winchester, or the following West Virginia counties: Hampshire, Jefferson and Berkeley. If no qualified applicant is identified, the scholarship may be awarded to any applicant residing in Virginia who meets other eligibility requirements.
As a member of i-SIGMA, Shred Nations and Record Nations recognizes the benefits of continuing higher education for those individuals interested in business, environmental responsibility and making future contributions to the community.
