Winning this scholarship means so much to me, and I am truly thankful for your support. I aspire to inspire others to achieve their goals while remaining proud of their backgrounds and cultures. I encourage others to peruse their interests while inspiring others to do the same.
It’s been a rocky year requiring a lot of strength, focus, and an eye on my core values. I have functioned day-to-day channeling positivity, trusting that things will somehow come together in the end. The moment I opened the congratulatory email for Trinity Thomas’ Uplifting Others Scholarship, I felt a flood of emotion. Despite any challenges, I have always felt that there is a plethora of good in the world and Trinity’s generosity reinforces that conviction.
As an older student with limited financial means, this award money will ease my tuition burden, enabling me to continue my path to help others through social work. As Trinity so beautifully stated, “It’s not what happens to you, it’s what you do next." Thank you, Trinity, for all the good you are already doing, for me, my co-recipients, and the many lives ahead that you will no doubt be changed for the better!
