Name: Christian A. Herter Memorial Scholarship Program

Amount: Awards up to 50% of calculated need

Eligibility: Open to any current high school sophomore or junior meeting the following qualifications:

-Enrolled in a public or private secondary school in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts  U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen at the time of application and is a permanent legal resident of Massachusetts

-Nominated by a sponsoring school or agency

-Has a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale

-Demonstrates difficult personal circumstances, high financial need, and strong academic promise to continue his or her education beyond high school, at a college or university

Amount: Tuition-waiver

Deadline: Contact the Massachusetts state college that you plan to attend for application requirements and deadlines.

Eligibility: This is a merit-based program that rewards Massachusetts students with a grade point average (G.P.A.) of 3.75 and highly competitive Scholastic Aptitude Test (S.A.T.) scores of at least 1200 (or the American College Testing [A.C.T.] equivalent). Eligible students receive a waiver of tuition and mandatory fees at a Massachusetts state university.
