Name: American Legion Oratorical Scholarship Contest

Amount: $2,000 - $25,000

Eligibility: Open to high school students under age 20. Competition begins at the post level and advances to a state competition.



Name: City of Boston Scholarship

Amount: $10,000

Deadline: April 28

Eligibility: Need-based scholarship for high school seniors who are planning to enroll in an undergraduate program (2 or 4-year)

Eligibility: Open to high school seniors who plan to attend a U.S. Accredited 4-Year College/University or Community College in the state of California, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Texas, or Washington. Minimum 3.0 GPA, must have a household income at or below the Low Income Level.



Name: Fisher Cats Foundation Scholarship

Amount: $1,500

Eligibility: Open to high school seniors in NH and MA. Selection criteria includes academic achievement, athletic achievement and active citizenship.



Name: Christian A. Herter Memorial Scholarship Program

Amount: Awards up to 50% of calculated need

Deadline: February 15

Eligibility: Open to any current high school sophomore or junior meeting the following qualifications:

-Enrolled in a public or private secondary school in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts  U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen at the time of application and is a permanent legal resident of Massachusetts

-Nominated by a sponsoring school or agency

-Has a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale

-Demonstrates difficult personal circumstances, high financial need, and strong academic promise to continue his or her education beyond high school, at a college or university



Name: Paul Tsongas Scholarship

Amount: Tuition-waiver

Deadline: Contact the Massachusetts state college that you plan to attend for application requirements and deadlines.

Eligibility: This is a merit-based program that rewards Massachusetts students with a grade point average (G.P.A.) of 3.75 and highly competitive Scholastic Aptitude Test (S.A.T.) scores of at least 1200 (or the American College Testing [A.C.T.] equivalent). Eligible students receive a waiver of tuition and mandatory fees at a Massachusetts state university.



Name: Stephen Phillips Memorial Scholarship Fund

Amount: $3,000 - $17,000

Eligibility: A scholarship for permanent residents of New England states, with financial need, who display academic achievement, a commitment to serving others, a strong work ethic and leadership qualities. Minimum 3.0 GPA.

Amount: $1,000

Eligibility: Open to student-athletes who have been associated with Massachusetts Youth Soccer for at least the past two years.

Eligibility: Open to high-achieving high school seniors with financial need. Minimum 3.5 GPA

Eligibility: Open to black and African American high school seniors planning on attending a four-year college or university to pursue a bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, computer information systems, or select business programs (such as finance, business administration, or marketing). Must have financial need and a minimum 3.3 GPA.
