Scholarship Description

Through the generosity of a private couple in Wisconsin, each year since Summer 2016, the Kosciuszko Foundation has been able to offer two scholarships to Wisconsin students of Polish descent to attend Kosciuszko Foundation’s Summer Study Abroad programs in Polish language at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow.  

The scholarship covers  program fees for Session A (4 weeks) or Session B (6- weeks).   Program fees include:  tuition, language textbooks, a shared room, breakfast, dinner and complementary programs such as sightseeing and evening events dedicated to Polish culture and traditions. 

The Wisconsin Study in Poland Scholarship (WSIP) is open to students who are Wisconsin residents and who are Americans of Polish descent. Non-Wisconsin residents who are studying at Wisconsin colleges and universities may also apply. The scholarship covers programs fees to attend the Kosciuszko Foundation’s Polish language and culture program at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland. Students may select a 4-wk. program, Session A, or a 6-week program, Session B.

Applicants for the Wisconsin Study in Poland Scholarship must:

  • have a high school diploma and be 18 by the first day of the program
  • be an American citizen of Polish descent or a Polish citizen with permanent residency status in the US (green card holder)
  • have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or better
  • be an eligible high school senior, undergraduate student or a graduate student at the time of application
  • be a Wisconsin resident
  • consideration will be given to eligible non-resident Wisconsin students who attend Wisconsin colleges and universities.

All scholarship winners must submit a report on return from Poland.
