Scholarship Description
SMPTE’s Student Paper Award honors a Student Member that prepares and submits an outstanding paper dealing with some technical phase of motion pictures, television, photographic instrumentation, or their closely allied arts and sciences.
Application requirements
- Applicants must be current SMPTE Student Members. Student Membership is available for $15 per year. Join Now. Applicants may also apply to receive a complimentary first year of membership through the SMPTE Student Membership Challenge.
- The paper must deal with some technical phase of motion pictures, television, photographic instrumentation, or their closely allied arts and sciences.
There is no required technical level for the papers.
Eligibility Requirements
- Type of institution award is open to: two-year college
- Type of institution award is open to: four-year college
- Type of institution award is open to: trade/technical school
- Award is available to U.S. citizens
- Award is available to Canadian citizens
- Award is available to citizens of countries other than the U.S. and Canada.
