NXT Scholarship Program

Scholarship Description

The Kinolime NXT Scholarship Program awards cash scholarships and film production grants to the strongest original short screenplays written by U.S. high school students each year. Entrants submit a short screenplay, logline, and director’s statement through Kinolime’s online platform. Entries are read and voted on by the Kinolime community before advancing to a judged review round. All scholarship funds are paid directly to the student writer or their parent or guardian.

NXT is a selective national program, only three writers per cycle receive personal scholarship funds, alongside seven school-directed grants. Kinolime is a film production company built on the idea that communities should help decide what stories get made. This program gives student screenwriters real recognition, real funding, and a real audience for their work.

Submit an original short screenplay during the open submission window.
