North Carolina Veterans Scholarships Class II

Scholarship Description

Awards for children of veterans rated by USDVA as much as 20 percent but less than 100 percent disabled due to wartime service as defined in the law, or awarded Purple Heart Medal for wounds received. Parent must have been a North Carolina resident at time of entry into service. Duration of the scholarship is four academic years (8 semesters) if used within 8 years. Free tuition and exemption from certain mandatory fees as set forth in the law in Public, Community and Technical Colleges.

• Type of institution award is open to: two-year college
• Type of institution award is open to: four-year college

• Birth certificate showing name of veteran parent(s), Copy of your veteran parent's DD 214 (member copy 4), A copy of most recent Federal Tax Return filed for applicant and applicant's parents, NCDMVA-12, "Authorization For Release Of Information" , Two completed NCDMVA-23B(3) forms, Selective Service Registration acknowledgement (if applicant is 18 years old at time of application).
