New York Financial Writers’ Associations Scholarship

Scholarship Description

The New York Financial Writers’ Association offers a number of scholarships to enrolled undergraduate or graduate journalism students in the tri-state New York area who are seriously interested in pursuing a career in business and financial journalism.

To qualify for a scholarship you must already be attending school or have graduated at the end of the most recent calendar year. Entries from those who have not yet begun their studies will not be considered.

Applications should be sent to [email protected] and should contain the following:

1. School, division, major and expected graduation date; present address and permanent home address (if different); telephone number; and any other relevant personal information.

2. An essay explaining why you are pursuing a career in business and financial journalism.

3. A current resume, including other scholarships received.

4. Samples of your financial writing (3 to 5 pieces), including links to online work and print clippings in PDF format.
