Scholarship Description
The NACADA Scholarships are presented to selected members who are pursuing graduate education at either the Master’s or Ph.D. or Ed.D. level. The program supports a primary goal of the organization, which is to promote professional training of advisors. Funds are provided in order to encourage the relationship between scholarly work in advising and professional practice. Candidates must have a two-year history of membership with NACADA, present a well-developed personal advising philosophy, articulate clear goals related to their future in advising and solicit detailed endorsements from their faculty advisor, as well as their employer. S/he must also have worked as an academic advisor for two years with a minimum of a half-time appointment. One $1,000 scholarship and four $500 scholarships may be awarded.

- Award is available to citizens of countries other than the U.S. and Canada.

NACADA provides a forum for discussion, debate, and the exchange of ideas pertaining to academic advising through numerous activities and publications. NACADA also serves as an advocate for effective academic advising by providing a Consulting and Speaker Service and funding for Research related to academic advising.
