Scholarship Description
Due to the generosity of Lt Col Hanna’s family, CAP is able to offer this flight scholarship to help cadets attain a private pilot’s license. This scholarship provides up to $5000 which can be used for local flight training at an FBO or training on CAP aircraft with a CAP instructor. (FAA part 61 or 141).
To be eligible, applicants must:
(1) be a current CAP Cadet;
(2) Have a Third Class Medical Certificate and valid student pilot certificate with TSA background check (but you are not required to have these at the time that you apply);
(3) be a current cadet that has completed a CAP Powered Solo Flight Academy at the Wing-, Region-, or National-level and earned their solo rating;
(4) Possess and maintain an academic and discipline standard acceptable to the school you attend. Follow Civil Air Patrol, USAF Auxiliary’s scholarship webpage for updates on details like deadlines.
