Scholarship Description

The scholarship fund is an exchange program for print journalists of the Americas. U.S. and Canadians study in Latin America, and Latin Americans study in the United States or Canada. Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese for the former, and in English or French for the latter is mandatory. Applicants must be natives of the Western Hemisphere. Applicants must have completed their college degrees before the beginning of the scholarship year; internships and reporting experience is a plus.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Aged between 21 and 35 years old
  • Award is available to U.S. citizens
  • Award is available to Canadian citizens
  • Award is available to citizens of countries other than the U.S. and Canada.

  • Recommendations or references required
  • Special requirements exist (These are specified in text.)
  • Resume Required
  • Three examples of the published or broadcast news articles by the applicant. The TOEFL score for applicants whose native language is not English and who apply to study in the U.S.
