Scholarship Description

The HOPE Career Grant, formerly known as the Strategic Industries Workforce Development Grant, is available to HOPE Grant-qualified students who enroll in select majors specifically aligned with industries in which there are more jobs available in Georgia than there are skilled workers to fill them. These industries have been identified as strategically important to the state’s economic growth.

Application Procedure

Complete FAFSA

Complete GSFAPPS

Students have two options when applying for HOPE Career Grant funds (formerly known as the Strategic Industries Workforce Development Grant), as part of a HOPE or Zell Miller Grant:

  1. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or,
  2. Complete the online Georgia Student Finance Application (GSFAPPS) or printable paper GSFAPPS application.

Note: The FAFSA must be completed each year.

Application Deadline

The application deadline is the last day of the school term or a student’s withdrawal date, whichever occurs first.  The HOPE Career Grant is awarded as part of a HOPE Grant or Zell Miller Grant and it is recommended that you submit your HOPE or Zell Miller Grant application as early as possible; the earlier you apply, the earlier the funds are disbursed to your school and credited to your account.
