Scholarship Description
The GPLLA Student Scholarship fund was established to provide financial aid to those students who are pursuing a graduate degree in Library Science. The purpose of this award is to encourage library students to pursue a career in law librarianship. Eligibility requirements: (1) Be a student accepted and/or registered at an ALA-accredited library school (a minimum of half-time status) who will continue as a student for another semester or quarter. (2) Reside within the geographic area covered by GPLLA. The geographic area covered by GPLLA includes: Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. Preference will be given to applicants residing in the Tri-State area (generally understood to encompass the area of Pennsylvania east of the Susquehanna River, the area of New Jersey south of and including Trenton, and all of Delaware).

The Greater Philadelphia Law Library Association (“GPLLAâ€) is a regional chapter of the American Association of Law Libraries. Our goal is to foster cooperation, communication, and camaraderie among law librarians and other legal information professionals in the greater Philadelphia area, including those in law firms, academia, and in government. Towards that end, we sponsor educational and networking events, maintain a member directory, job board, and e-mail listserv, and offer scholarships and grants to students interested in law librarianship.
