Scholarship Description
Students awarded the Great Expectations scholarship receive scholarship funds as well as mentoring, peer-advising, networking opportunities, and other persistence support and services to achieve college success.
Applicants must meet the following requirements to be eligible to apply for the Great Expectations Scholarship: (1) Attend and graduate from an Oakland public or charter high school and start as a full time student at an accredited, not-for-profit college in the U.S. in the coming Fall; (2) Have a minimum cumulative weighted GPA of 2.0 to receive 2-year scholarship -OR- 2.7 to receive 4-year scholarship; (3) Demonstrate financial need as calculated by FAFSA or CA Dream Act Application; (4) Plan to enroll as a full-time student at a 2 or 4-year accredited, not-for-profit college or university or CTE program; (5) Engage in service to your community.
