Scholarship Description

Scholarship was established by Presidential Member, Gordon Holness, who served 2009-2010. One-year scholarships available to full-time undergraduate Engineering Technology students pursuing either a bachelor or an associate degree in a course of study that has traditionally been a preparatory curriculum for the HVAC&R profession. Qualified applicants must have a minimum cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 3.0 on a scale where 4.0 is the highest and/or a class standing of no less than the top 30% and meet at least one of the following criteria: the institution has an active ASHRAE student branch on campus ASHRAE Student Branches, the program is accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) www.abet.org or the Partnership for Air Conditioning, Heating, & Refrigeration Accreditation (PAHRA) www.pahrahvacr.org or an agency outside the USA that is a signatory of The Sydney Accord. Official transcript of grades. Transcript must be mailed in a separately sealed envelope. Photocopies will not be accepted. Three signed letters of recommendation as follows: one from an instructor or faculty advisor, one from a current or past employer, and one from another character reference (other than a family member). In the case of institutions with an ASHRAE student branch, a letter from the faculty advisor of that branch may be one of the letters of recommendation.
