First Marine Division Association Scholarship Fund

Scholarship Description

Scholarship to assist dependents of deceased or 100 percent permanently disabled veterans of service with the 1st Marine Division in furthering their education towards a bachelor’s degree. Awarded to full-time, undergraduate students who are attending an accredited college, university, or higher technical trade school, up to a maximum of four years.

Eligibility Requirements

• Must currently be in high school
• Type of institution award is open to: two-year college
• Type of institution award is open to: four-year college
• Type of institution award is open to: trade/technical school

Application Requirements

• Application form required
• Special requirements exist (These are specified in text.)
• Death certificate of the applicant's sponsor or an affidavit from the Veteran's Administration attesting to the 100% and permanent disability of the applicant's sponsor; applicant's birth certificate under the seal of an Office of Vital Statistics; applicant's Social Security Number and telephone number; a letter from the prospective scholar describing goals and aspirations; other documents/information listed in the scholarship web page.
