Scholarship Description
The Christianson Fellowship is awarded to U.S. citizens and legal permanent residents between 18 and 28 who have arranged their own service projects abroad. Past grantees’ projects have focused on multiple international issues, including public health, environmental conservation, legal advocacy, women’s and girls’ rights, microfinance, education, and poverty alleviation, among other topics. Proposed projects must be at least six months in length and emphasize a work component. The grant program does not support independent research projects or academic study abroad programs.

Grants are intended to defray the costs of transportation, participation fees, insurance, housing, and meals related to work, internship, or volunteer abroad programs.
