Charlotte Plummer Owen Memorial Scholarship

Scholarship Description

The Women Band Directors International will award scholarships of various amounts designed to salute the people for whom they are named and to support young women presently preparing to be band directors. The Charlotte Plummer Owen Memorial Scholarship is sponsored by her daughter, Susan Bisiri. All women pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in instrumental music at the time of application are encouraged to apply. Applicants should identify as a woman and intend to become a band director. Applicants must submit two letters of recommendation (including one from current band director and one WBDI member if possible). Applications are accepted from September 1 to December 1 annually.

Eligibility Requirements

• Must be Female
• Type of institution award is open to: four-year college
• Award is available to U.S. citizens
• Award is available to Canadian citizens
• Award is available to citizens of countries other than the U.S. and Canada.
