Blossom Kalama Evans Memorial Scholarship Fund

Scholarship Description

This scholarship was created by the family of Blossom Kalama Evans with donations from the Big Island Girls Golf Club. Blossom Kalama Evans was a long-time resident of Hilo and a leading woman golfer on the Big Island where she formed the Big Island Hawaiian Girls Golf Club. She was devoted to assisting the people of Hawai’i.

HCF Criteria:

• Be in good academic standing or by maintaining a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0
• Demonstrate financial need
• Preference for recipients who were awarded in the immediate prior year if such recipient continues to meet the eligibility requirements and is in good standing.

Donor Criteria:

• Resident of the State of Hawaii
• Attend an institution in the State of Hawaii

Preferences:

• Hawaiian ancestry
• Major in Hawaiian language, or other fields related to the history, culture and arts of native Hawaiians
• Two letters of recommendation
