Scholarship Description
General eligibility requirements: (1) Dependent child or spouse of a US Navy sailor (active, retired, honorably discharged), now referred to as Sponsor. (2) Sponsor must have a Surface Warfare qualification (SWO/ESWS). (3) Sponsor must have served 6 years (active duty) in commands under the administrative control of Commander Naval Surface Forces, US Atlantic Fleet (COMNAVSURFLANT) and/or US Pacific Fleet (COMNAVSURFOR). Sponsors (Officer Only) may utilize service on CVNs toward the 6 year (active duty) requirement. The time requirement is cumulative and assignments need not be consecutive. The Foundation provides financial assistance to children and spouses of active duty, retired and honorably discharged Sailors of the Naval Surface Forces, U.S. Atlantic or Pacific Fleets, who will be pursuing their first undergraduate degree on-site at a 4-year university. Spouses have the additional option of pursuing their first time Associate’s degree at a community college.
