American Legion Department of Maine Children and Youth Scholarships

Scholarship Description

The American Legion Department of Maine’s Children and Youth Scholarships award seven $500 scholarships to applicants who are able to demonstrate financial need. A letter from the applicant stating why he or she wishes to have a scholarship and what field he or she wants to work in after college should be included in the application. Also, there should be letters from the applicant’s principal or guidance counselor (or other source if no longer in high school) and from an outside person, other than family members.

• Type of institution award is open to: four-year college
• Type of institution award is open to: trade/technical school
• Award is available to U.S. citizens
