Scholarship Description
Established in 2007 by friends of Alice Conger Patterson for female students attending Salem College, UNC Greensboro, North Carolina A&T, Winston-Salem State University, High Point University, Wake Forest University, Guilford College or Greensboro College, with a preference for Salem College.
Most of our scholarships are accessed through a One-Stop Scholarship Application. This means that you will be automatically considered for the scholarships for which you are eligible—with just one application. You’ll need to complete the application in full and provide supplemental materials. We’ll take it from there!
March 15: deadline for most WSF merit-based scholarships
July 1: deadline for WSF financial need-based scholarships
Eligibility Requirements
- For residents of the following states: North Carolina
- Must be Female
- Type of institution award is open to: four-year college
- Award is available to U.S. citizens
- Award is available to citizens of countries other than the U.S. and Canada.

The Winston-Salem Foundation is the first foundation of any type to be established in North Carolina, and the 16th oldest community foundation in the United States. The Foundation is devoting significant resources toward investments in two critical focus areas for our work in Forsyth County: Building an Inclusive Economy and Advancing Equity in Education.
