Scholarship Description

The McClure Scholarship is part of the SNAME Graduate Scholarships Program, and open to applicants worldwide who are members of the Society of Naval Architects & Marine Engineers. The scholarship is to be awarded annually, when merited in the opinion of the SNAME Scholarships Committee, to a master-level graduate student who is a member, in good standing, of SNAME. Membership in SNAME shall be documented for a minimum of two (2) years prior to the application due date, nominally February 15th of the Scholarship application year. The scholarship shall be awarded for study only in the fields of naval architecture, marine engineering and ocean engineering. The scholarship can be used by the student for tuition, textbooks, course-related supplies, required equipment and academic fees, other academically related expenses as are necessary for the designated educational institution’s enrollment, and for room and board to include essential living expenses while actively enrolled at the designated educational institution. Applicants must not receive their Master’s Degree prior to September 1st of the academic year for which the scholarship applies.
