Scholarship Description
This $500 travel award supports recipients who are MD, PhD or equivalent fellows giving abstract-based oral or poster presentations at Digestive Disease Week (DDW). The top scoring abstract will be designated the Fellow Abstract of the Year and receive a $1,000 award. The objective of the AGA Research Foundation Fellow Abstract Award is to stimulate interest in gastroenterology and hepatology research careers by providing funds for travel and related expenses to attend DDW to clinical and postdoctoral fellows who are active trainee members of AGA. Applicants must be the first author of an abstract or the designated speaker of an oral presentation accepted by AGA for presentation at DDW. Students and medical residents are ineligible for this award. Fellows outside of North America are ineligible for this award. Applicants must be clinical or postdoctoral fellows with MD, PhD or equivalent degrees at institutions in North America (U.S., Canada and Mexico). Applicants who are physician-scientists, female or from racial/ethnic groups underrepresented in biomedical research are strongly encouraged to apply.
