Scholarship Description
Advocates for African Americans Carolinas Scholarship Fund is supported by Advocates for African-Americans, a Duke Energy employee resource group in Charlotte. It was founded by Duke Energy employees in 1996 to attract, nurture, develop and promote a diverse workforce.
Advocates for African Americans Carolinas Scholarship Fund provides scholarships to college-bound students from North and South Carolina who are pursuing a major in engineering, math, science, computer science, accounting, finance or business administration.
Scholarships are awarded annually to two accredited colleges or universities and one community service organization. The college, university or community service organization selects the scholar using criteria that focuses on grade point average, residence, leadership skills and financial need.
Eligibility Requirements
- 3.5 Minimum GPA
- For residents of the following states: North Carolina, South Carolina
- Must be Black, African American
