Scholarship Description

Adele Filene Student Presenter Grants provide financial assistance to students who have been selected to present oral research papers or research exhibits at the CSA National Symposium.

Applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Must be a current student member of the Costume Society of America;
  • Must have received notice that their proposal for an oral research paper or research exhibit has been accepted for that year’s National Symposium;
  • Must reside outside a 200-mile radius of that symposium site.

 

Eligibility Requirements

  • Type of institution award is open to: two-year college
  • Type of institution award is open to: four-year college
  • Award is available to U.S. citizens
  • Award is available to Canadian citizens
  • Award is available to citizens of countries other than the U.S. and Canada.

  • Application form required
  • Recommendations or references required
  • Special requirements exist (These are specified in text.)
  • Project Proposal. Copy of the abstract submitted and accepted to National Symposium. Copy of the notice of acceptance to National Symposium. Current CV of the applicant.

The Costume Society of America (CSA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded on March 23, 1973, and incorporated in the state of New York on September 12, 1973.

CSA serves it members, and promotes its goals with national symposia and publications including the journal Dress and its monthly electronic newsletter CSA E-News.

The organization began forming regional groups in 1978. There are six regional groups in the United States and Canada, and one international group. Individual regions hold annual meetings, sponsor programs and publish newsletters.
