$21,000/year three year award for formally admitted doctoral student who has successfully completed first year as doctoral candidate in the microbiology sciences at an accredited U.S. institution. Must be an ASM member, have an approved research project, and be a member of an underrepresented minority group. Must be U.S. citizen or a permanent resident.
Applicant must: (1) be considering a career in New Jersey in an environmental field (pursuing degrees in environmental science, policy and planning, natural resource management, geography, sustainability, park administration, and related fields); (2) have a cumulative academic average equivalent to a 3.0 or higher.
This scholarship is available to facilitate the involvement of youth interested in commercial beef production. A private fund has been established to provide one, fully paid sponsorship for a young Red Angus enthusiast to attend Round-Up.
