The state of Pennsylvania is home to over 100 four-year degree-granting universities. This includes a mix of liberal arts schools, speciality schools, midsize colleges, large research universities, and everything in between.

Whether you’re a high school senior looking at attending a Pennsylvania college or university, or you’re a current college student at one of Pennsylvania’s many institutions, this post highlights many great scholarships and resources for you to take advantage of.

Pennsylvania scholarships to apply for

  • Amount: $1,000

    Deadline: June 30, December 31

  • Amount: $1,000

    Deadline: March 31, June 30, September 30, December 31

    Eligibility: Open to high school, college and graduate school students. Open to US residents, undocumented students, and international students studying in the US. No essay required!

  • Amount: $25,000

    Deadline: Monthly

    Details: This monthly scholarship is open to all college students!  Just fill out one simple registration form.

  • Amount: $5,000

    Deadline: February 18

    Eligibility: Open to high school seniors and college freshmen (17-25 years of age) who are residents of the greater Philadelphia area and are dedicated to helping others, with a passion for giving back to their communities.

  • Amount: March 15

    Deadline: Varies

    Eligibility: Open to female Asian American high school students who have made a positive and lasting impact on our local community through their service and leadership. Minimum 3.0 GPA.

  • Amount: $2,000

    Deadline: April 1

    Eligibility: Open to journalism students from a five-county area in the Mahoning and Shenango valleys entering their junior or senior year of college.

  • Amount: $2,500

    Deadline: April 1

    Eligibility: Open to youth aged 24 and under residing in Allegheny County who are experiencing or have experienced homelessness during their school attendance years, and who are going on to a higher education or career training program for the first time.

  • Amount: $5,000

    Deadline: April 1

    Eligibility: Open to qualifying senior undergraduate or graduate students pursuing a full-time degree at an accredited university or professional school. Must be a U.S. citizen of Greek descent and a resident of Pennsylvania or NJ (specific counties listed on the scholarship page).

  • Amount: $1,000

    Deadline: April 11

    Eligibility: Open to high school seniors who are residents of Philadelphia county. Financial need is considered but not required.

  • Amount: $2,500

    Deadline: April 12

    Eligibility: Open to high school seniors, high school graduates or current undergraduates in the United States, who self-identify as female (any race/ethnicity), or as a member of a historically underserved racial or ethnic background. Minimum 2.5/4.0 GPA.

  • Amount: $2,500

    Deadline: April 12

    Eligibility: Open to high school seniors pursuing studies in the environmental and natural sciences. Students must be applying to a two- or four-year college to further their studies in an environmentally-related field.

  • Amount: $5,000

    Deadline: April 15

    Eligibility: Open to high school seniors or current undergraduate students who plan to enroll in a part-time or full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire academic year.

  • Amount: $2,500

    Deadline: April 15

    Eligibility: Open to nursing students in the US. Must be a US citizen, UNICO member, and reside in one of the following states: California, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Illinois, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, or Wisconsin.

  • Amount: $500

    Deadline: May 1

    Eligibility: Open to high school senior students who are involved in Band and intend to major in Music at a Pennsylvania college or university. Must be the child or grandchild of a Pennsylvania legionnaire in good standing, or a child or grandchild of a deceased Pennsylvania Legionnaire.

  • Amount: Varies

    Deadline: May 15

    Eligibility: Open to Lancaster County residents seeking advanced study in the fields of psychiatry, psychology or social work.

  • Amount: $5,000

    Deadline: June 14

    Eligibility: Open to high school seniors with financial need who have demonstrated a well-balanced academic career—academics, extracurricular activities, and community service—with a desire to make a positive change in their communities. Must be a permanent resident of Lancaster County, PA.

  • Amount: $4,000

    Deadline: September 30

    Eligibility: Open to medical students who are residents of Allegheny Pennsylvania. Applicant must be enrolled full time in a fully accredited Pennsylvania medical school as a third or fourth year student.

  • Amount: $2,500

    Deadline: N/A

    Eligibility: Open to Philadelphia area college students pursuing a career in journalism / multimedia arts. Scholarships available for students attending 4-year colleges as well as community colleges.
