Scholarship Description
CAP wants to help aspiring cadet aviators attain their FAA Private Pilot’s License or beyond. Recipients will receive funds to pursue pilot certifications either in-residence or locally. If you’re an outstanding cadet who dreams of flying, this is fabulous news. To be eligible, applicants must: (1) be a current CAP Cadet; (2) Read, speak, write, and understand the English language, in accordance with FAA regulations (14 CFR 61.83,null); (3) Have a Third Class Medical Certificate and valid student pilot certificate with TSA background check (but you are not required to have these at the time that you apply,null); (4) Have completed the FAA Private Pilot Airplane Knowledge Exam with a passing score (It is not necessary for a cadet to have a test score by time of application, but it will be required for selection,null); (5) Have gained aeronautical experience (e.g. powered orientation flights, participated or graduated from CAP Powered “Solo” Flight Academy, have flown solo in a powered aircraft, or have other aviation-related experiences,null); (6) Possess and maintain an academic and discipline standard acceptable to the school you attend.
