Scholarship Description
The CCNMA Scholarships are awarded annually to Latino students who are planning to pursue a career in journalism. Applicants must be a California resident or attend an accredited college or university in California.
Included in the application is a 300 to 500 words autobiographical essay explaining your family background, including any hardships you’ve experienced, why you want to be a journalist, and what you believe is the role, if any, of Latino journalists in the mainstream news media.
Applicants should submit work samples such as articles and/or photographs published in school or community newspapers, or stories broadcast on campus or cable TV or radio stations.

- Type of institution award is open to: two-year college
- Type of institution award is open to: four-year college
- Must be Hispanic, Latino/a
- Award is available to U.S. citizens
- Award is available to Canadian citizens
- Award is available to citizens of countries other than the U.S. and Canada.
