Scholarship Description
The Johnella Banks Memorial Scholarship for students enrolled in a BSN, ADN or LPN program and the Felicia Brady Scholarship for licensed nurses (LPN, ADN or BSN) enrolled in an educational program for advancement to the next level of nursing education are available annually. The deadline date for both the Banks and Brady Scholarships is January 31st of each year. Eligibility requirements include: (1) must be an African American with permanent residency in the District of Columbia or one of the adjacent counties of the State of Maryland (Anne Arundel, Calvert, Charles, Howard & Montgomery, Prince Georges); (2) Must be a sophomore, junior or first semester senior nursing student in a registered nursing or practical nursing program; and (3) Must be currently enrolled in a National League for Nursing accredited program and is in good academic standing with a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.8.

- Type of institution award is open to: four-year college
- Must be Black, African American
- Award is available to U.S. citizens
- Award is available to Canadian citizens
- Award is available to citizens of countries other than the U.S. and Canada.
