Scholarship Description
The Wyoming Department of Education annually awards the Douvas Scholarship, established by Peter George Douvas, an immigrant from Greece. This scholarship is awarded to a first-generation American youth who demonstrates financial need and the motivation to attend college.
First-generation American students who aim to attend one of the seven Wyoming community colleges or the University of Wyoming are eligible for the scholarship. One $500 scholarship will be awarded.
Requirements
- Students must be a first-generation American. A first-generation American is one born in the United States, but whose parents were not born in the United States.
- Be a high school senior or between the ages of 18 and 22.
- Be a Wyoming resident.
- Use the scholarship at one of the state’s seven community colleges or the University of Wyoming.
- Use the scholarship to partially meet educational expenses during the school year that follows the spring application.

- Type of institution award is open to: four-year college
- Award is available to U.S. citizens
